We took two canal boat rides this summer, one in the Brecon Beacons, the other in London. I'd never done such a thing before. The boats were pulled up the mountains by horses, and then put back in the canal on the other side. Once the railroad crossed the state, the canal went away. There are pieces of it here and there and it's a big part of our state's history that not many people know about.
