Life's been a bit more obtuse than it need have been recently … so I'm way behind and have been happily procrastinating … not helped with the Middle East developments.
I've been reading about Sergei Diaghilev (1872 - 1929) (Russian art critic, patron, ballet impressario and more) – which I found far more fascinating than I thought I would – and again those rabbit holes appeared! So an interesting, I hope, post will appear after WEP … WEP will be 'odd' too …Diaghilev with his nanny in

Life's always interesting … the Turner Prize Exhibition is up and running at our amazing local Towner Art Gallery …
This is part of the adjunct exhibitions happening in conjunction with the Turner Prize at the Towner Art Gallery |
… while within the town is Eastbourne ALIVE – an ambitious project (an adjunct to the Turner Prize) working with cultural partners in and around the resort's landscape orbit … I need to explore.
This was meant to be very short … but I obviously don't do that … rabbit holes abound …

So next (this week) comes Write Edit Publish – Phantom of the Opera … another quirky tale from me …
I will catch up … boiler withstanding – that's been bad again – it'd be nice if things would behave!!

Life has a habit of spitting chips at times. At least yours are diverting in a positive way - for the most part. The few 'duds' keep it honest! YAM xx
Here's hoping things will run smoothly for you, Hilary! In the meantime, your educational posts are always fascinating.
Rabbit holes are good and interesting and open up all sorts of possibilities and new interests:-)
I await some "Music of the Night" from you - no doubt a worthy phantom tale. Good luck with a boiler that must not be behaving.
Darn boiler. Phantom of the Opera should be a fun theme.
Enjoy your day.
Life is like that some days/weeks, even without rabbit holes to get lost in. I look forward to reading your WEP post. Really look forward to it.
Beware the internet. So many things to suck you in, steal your time, and give you all sorts of random information.
I’m familiar with rabbit holes! And dodgy boilers, you have my sympathy there.
I bunny hope into rabbit holes all the time. Researching a subject leads me to so many intriguing sub-topics. I hope everything behaves for you soon.
Love,
Janie
I completely understand. Tomorrow, I'll be lucky to get to turn on the computer. Ooops and it's the full first day of the WEP. Fingers crossed they'll be no glitches. LOL
Good luck to you and me!
Yes, life has a habit of throwing the unexpected at us. Hope your boiler gets sorted out ... winter is coming!
Excellent :) Can't wait to hear what you say in the next blog post. I loved reading and writing about Diaghilev, even when he was a manipulative and untrustworthy boss.
Thanks for the link:

@ Yam – thanks … yes chips seem to have been around for a while – luckily I'm of the cheerful nature and get on with life kind of person …
@ Debbie – I'm sure things will turn around – just delighted you enjoy the posts …
@ Janice – rabbit holes are fun ...and as you say open up more possibilities – otherwise they get blocked …
@ Joanne – poor Phantom he's going to have a hard time in my hands! I think I'm going to enjoy drafting it up …
@ Sandra – wretched boiler yes … I've got a bath today … so Eastbourne will be visitable again!
@ EC – life is like that as you say – unnecessary in my life really … I'm fortunate. Rabbit holes – love them … thanks re the coming WEP post soon.
@ Liz – I've always been good at backing off very quickly when I know I'm on the wrong track re the wonderful world wide web! But I do find interesting items quite often …
@ Anabel – yes you'll see rabbit holes out and about on your walks, and during your research …
@ Janie – I too hope everything behaves soon … but rabbit holes can often be informative …
@ Yolanda – as EC mentioned life has its ups and downs … good luck to you … I have hot water today thankfully. Yes – no glitches for any of us …
@ Ian – autumn arrived this weekend … so I'll be happy once I can just let the boiler get on with its work! And yes – winter will follow on … as we both know.
@ Hels – WEP will be amusing I hope; please don't expect an intellectual post about Diaghilev – like the ones you write … but it was an interesting and informative read. Thanks for the link …
Cheers and thanks for all your comments - Hilary
Another fascinating little wander into the realm of the sparsely known, Hilary, and a joy it is too to become reacquainted with Sergei Diaghilev, a name that had not crossed my mind in many a long year, but by all accounts an interesting fellow. I am quite sure that what would constitute a scramble down a rabbit hole for most of us is a mere pleasant stroll for you, and quite part of what makes Hilary Hilary! Bring on the next instalment! Hugs - David
Check you Spam folder, Hilary, I just left a comment and it immediately disappeared - unless you started to moderate the comments and I didn’t notice.
Thanks David - yes it had gone into my spam folder ... I now check it every day ... sometimes I find a comment that I'm very happy to have and promptly post it ... in fact I had checked earlier - but you hadn't commented at that stage. Not surprised with your time difference ...
My Diaghilev post will be informative rather than intelligent - I'd need a degree in music, opera, ballet et al ... but I found some interesting snippets of life ... he'll be second ...
We must have the Phantom next ... poor chap - under my writing abilities he's about to be taken for a complete irreverent ride - Friday that'll appear.
Lovely to have your comment - many thanks ... cheers Hilary
Rabbit holes are dangerous, but so very interesting.
I'm unfamiliar with Diaghilev. Glad you found the reading interesting.
Cheers,
Diaghilev seems interesting having lived in a world of art and ballet. Always great to have exhibitions happening in your neighbourhood. I love them as well.
Thank goodness for the rabbit holes. Those mean we are very interested in, or are enjoying something. :) Have a happy day!
Even you place-holding posts are a joy to read!
@ Dan - oh yes ... they can be very hurtful when you literally fall in one - but investigative rabbit holes can be fun ... as you mention.
@ Sandra - well at least you won't be expecting an erudite post about Diaghilev ... thankfully! It was interesting though ...
@ Marja - he was a complex character ... but has since offered the world so much through his concept of the Ballet Russes. There's a lot to see in this local exhibition - which I need to spend some time checking out ... as you say a good gallery is great to have ...
@ Rosey - oh yes ... thank goodness for 'em rabbit holes - we're following up on too much 'research'!! Fun though ...
@ Bazza - thank you ... I appreciate your thoughts here ...
Now to the Phantom c/o this week's Write Edit Publish prompt ... cheers and thanks for your visits - Hilary
You always come up with interesting blogs of something different and educational.
I have just done my first blog in 2 months, time just runs away, The garden and the kitchen have taken over with all the vegetables and fruit this year. Still quinces on the tree!!!!!
Take care, cheers Diane
Thanks Diane - I'll be over ... with your garden, husbandry, celebrations, entertaining ... I'm not surprised you haven't been blogging much - though always delighted to see you here, and on your blog - see you over there ... oh I'd love some quinces! Cheers Hilary
I love a good rabbit hole! 😁 I think they're great for keeping our brains learning (or at least that is what I tell myself).
Hi Holly - yes ... lots to find down those rabbit holes - I'm always going there, and constantly learning - and yes you're right - at least I think we're becoming better educated. I hope I am - though I can never find the reference, when I want it! Cheers Hilary
