Oh How I Miss You Blogfest …

My post of two years ago encompasses my thoughts and though there are new bloggers that I’d add to the list … I think we all know who each of us respects and enjoys visiting …

So to surprise her (Tina) up there ... this post will be short!:

Nicholas Roerich: Guests from Overseas (1901)

Who does not miss, could not miss and who will not miss Tina Downey of Viking fame with her Blog “Life is Good” …

I posted about her here … such a dreadful sad loss to her family … and I know many of us miss her as we blog our way along … and come the A-Z in 2015 … it will be very strange without her.

The Sunshine Lad - Lenny

Whom I would miss if he did not blog occasionally, even once amonthjust to let us know he’s still around … that merry soul who is known as Lenny of Lenny’s World … Lenny blog on please!!!  He's my GrandBlogSon ... so named as he calls me his GrandBlogMom ... Sharon is his BlogMom!!

Lenny loves critters - I love Africa ...
not so keen on jigsaws - and this is one apparently!

A note re next week: 4th - 6th December … a reach out – Tina was involved in last year's, and one I know Lenny would support …

Emergency Food Drive -
December 4 - 6

Emergency Food during the festive seasons coming up … and then remembering each and every month thereafter … here are the details …

Hosted by MJ Joachim and ..... the world .... that's us ... get the word out please ... anyone who does social media ... please tweet, FB et al ... thank you!!

Here's to this great community ...

I think Tina is the exact right choice for a blogger you (and so many people) miss. There will be milestones that are hard to handle knowing she's not around.

Happy Monday, Hilary! I wish I had known Tina. I was so touched by all the love and support she received. Unfortunately I didn't know of her until after she passed, but I somehow feel I did...

Sad to lose a good friend. I am working all week to fill our pantry, but it seems to go out faster than coming in. I bought three cases of Spam yesterday and the grocery lady was amused. I told her I was forming a turkey shape with it for my holiday. Too mean. I enjoy the group blogs and need to get back into a few.

Jo said...

Dear Tina, I certainly do miss her blog nice of you to list her today.

Tina is being mentioned today all over the blogosphere. Although I didn't know her very well, I did go back and visit her site after the announcement of her passing on Facebook.

She seemed like such an inspiration.

There are blogs I automatically go to...they provide solace or inspiration or take me out of my ordinary day... and my life would be less without them.

The internet has its ups and downs, but there are some amazing people out there and I wouldn't have had the opportunity to meet them otherwise.

Have a beautiful week, Hilary!

@ Crystal - so true Crystal .. we need to engender these thoughts all the time and that might help many ...

@ Joylene - yes .. Tina and Lenny .. and so many others deserve mention .. but we'd go on for ever and upset someone who was missed off the list: so this time I kept it very short.

@ Patsy - it's fascinating how the character of the blogger flows out isn't it .. and appreciate you'd miss me: I 'ain't' going anywhere yet!

A moving post, and one that shows me again what a wonderful blogland we live in. So many wonderful friendships have been built this way. Thank you so much!

Tina, yes. I didn't have much contact with her outside of the 3 years I did the A-to-Z, but she touched me nonetheless. Yes, A-to-Z 2015 will be very, very weird. And thank you for introducing me to Lenny; I'm heading over to his blog to take a look :)

Thanks for your earlier visit to my blog, Hilary, and I'm so glad you liked the video. She's fantastic, isn't she?

It's nice that you mentioned Tina. It's so obvious she was a blogger who was well loved.

You've made me thing too...today's the day before Thanksgiving here, and the kids are off school. There is ZERO reason why we can't gather up a car load of food and take it to the shelter or food pantry.

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

I had forgotten that this was happening, but it is surprising to see how many blogs have gone MIA and how just as many are still going strong, after visiting those who followed me long ago. It helps me appreciate where I am now. :)

I would miss your writing if you would have to stop. Knowing Lenny is great. Sharon is a great blogger too although lately she has not been writing much.
Have a happy thanksgiving. We did not know what thanksgiving was when we lived in England. If I did, I probably would celebrate then too. May god bless all.

Thanks so much everyone - it's good to remember those who no longer blog, for whatever reason .. and those who seem to quietly fade away - understandable, I guess.

Guilie - the video was amazing ...

@ Rosey - glad you'll gather up the kids, a car load of food and take it to a local shelter or food pantry

Happy Thanks giving to one and all .. we can all be very grateful for our lives even if we're not actually celebrating Thanksgiving

Cheers to one and all - Hilary
